Funny story: I donated a piece to the Redux art auction. Redux is important to me because when I first moved here it was the only place regularly showing the contemporary art of the sort you might see in bigger cities. That's changing in Charleston, but Redux was a beacon for me when I was entering the scene.
Anyway, artists get tickets to the auction when they donate. A few days before the event I got an email saying tickets were sold out, and there was a long wait list of collectors. Would I consider donating my tickets? Heck yes. Someone would get to buy art and enjoy the party and I could Netflix and Chill.
After the auction I got a fun note from Redux that my piece sold to the person I gave my tickets to. Crazy, right? That person also turned out to be my lovely friend, Donatella.
Delightful all the way around.
